Want to get some gentle exercise?

Want to socialise and make new friends?

We have the answer, come and play Indoor Bowls at Dunholme Indoor Bowls Club

We are open every day and for a trial period for four hours on a Saturday 10-12 am and 12-2 pm.  You are very welcome to come along any Saturday at 10 am or 12 pm.  The Saturday morning sessions are proving very popular.  So, if you want to learn from scratch come along to the 12 pm session.  FREE tuition, shoes and bowls are available for your first three sessions.  If you find after your free sessions you enjoy bowling why not join the Club.  The cost for two hours fun is just £2.50. If you can't make a Saturday telephone the Club to book a FREE taster session.

The Club is also open for two hours on Sunday morning where you will be able to meet fellow members for a roll up.

The Club would welcome you as a new member and encourage you to take part in the fun leagues, competitions and leagues, we look forward to seeing you. For more information:

Welton Imps Walking Football Club

Now in its fourth year, WIWFC has now introduced a Friday afternoon session at Manor Park, Welton LN2 3PA. The idea is that this is a less competitive session than others that we run, which is aimed primarily for the over 65s but it is actually ideal for anyone over 50 who perhaps has had little opportunity to play sport recently, or is recovering from injury or illness, or simply wants to give walking football a go. The first session is free and subsequently £2 for each game played but there is no additional joining or annual fee charged for playing. Spectating is free as is learning the rules and code of conduct and maybe officiating when someone is accused of running. Jocular banter is welcomed from all who attend as are anecdotes of previous football experiences or sporting incidents that are of interest and hopefully amusing.

Skill and fitness levels vary but that doesn't matter as the rules are designed to allow players at all levels and abilities to fully participate in the game. The emphasis is on football, fun, fitness and friendship in no particular order. In fact, there has been a lot of evidence of increased health benefits for those who play regularly as it is a good cardiovascular workout at a gentle pace. However, it is as much a social as a sporting activity with most of the players going back to Welton Sports and Social Club after each game for a chat and a drink. Social interaction is another aspect of health benefit that has been recognised as a retirement necessity. If you fancy any of this please come along on Fridays at 2:45pm for an hour on the all weather 3G pitch at Welton Manor Park, which has good car parking, changing facilities if required including toilets and no mud, training shoes or astro turf shoes are recommended, the rest of the attire is what suits you. We provide bibs to identify sides and of course FOOTBALLS. We also have first aid equipment if necessary including a defibrillator, which hopefully will never be required!
